The Amalgama project offers an educational opportunity for adolescents (15–17 years old) to blend, or rather “amalgamate,” scientific and artistic methodologies, while encouraging observation, experiential learning, and transversality among emerging generations. Founded in collaboration with Professor Paolo Carta, the project unfolds through thematic workshops and activities that foster cross-disciplinary thinking.

Amalgama integrates theoretical scientific study with hands-on artistic practices, demonstrating the advantages of merging research, production, pedagogy, and situated practices. This complementary educational opportunity emphasizes “learning by doing” and intergenerational connections, sensitizing future generations to sustainable and innovative approaches within their territories. By “amalgamating” scientific inquiry with active experiential artistic practice, the project aims to inspire adolescents and cultivate a deeper understanding of contemporary challenges.

The outcomes of these activities include the development of sustainable models for cross-community engagement, climate change mitigation, environmental policy, and cross-cultural initiatives. Moreover, through an extended network of partner institutions in Italy and abroad, Amalgama establishes a pioneering model that inspires and empowers adolescents while promoting environmental sustainability across Europe.

In 2025, thanks to a collaboration between amaneï and the Istituto di Istruzione Superiore “Isa Conti Eller Vainicher” of Lipari, the first edition of Aeolian Amalgama – Learning from Water: Ideas for a Sustainable Island within the Archipelago was launched. The project was also selected as part of Collab 4 HY Sust CCI 2024/2025, a European Union incubator program dedicated to the sustainable development of the cultural and creative sectors.
